NHS - Lung Cancer Screening
24 March 2026
The NHS is rolling out Lung Cancer Screening in South Warwickshire - patients will already be receiving invitations to attend.
The NHS recommends Lung Cancer Screening for people aged 55 to 74 who have ever smoked.
Early detection through screening can help identify lung cancer at an early stage - when it's more treatable - and can save lives.
The initial invitation will be in writing from the Screening Service and patients will be offered a telephone appt 20-30 minutes with someone from the Screening Service (not from the GP Practice). Depending on the answers some patients will be offered a follow up scan by the Screening Service direct.
For patients in our area the scanner will be located at Stratford Hospital.
For patients who receive this invitation and have any queries please contact the Screening Service on 02476 969290 or email LungCancerScreening.Bookings@UHCW.nhs.uk
